Newsletter

In the interest of ‘looking after our environment’, newsletters, most notices, school documents and policies are available online.

The newsletter is a vital link between school staff and the school community. It includes a range of important information and is our main avenue of communication. Paper copies are also available at the office for those families who don’t have access to the internet.

NDIS Information

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support and funding for children and young people with a disability to help them build their skills, and achieve their goals. We understand that navigating the NDIS can sometimes feel overwhelming, which is why our school has a dedicated Navigator on site to support families. The Navigator can provide information about the NDIS, guidance, and assistance with NDIS applications, referrals, and connecting with appropriate supports.

School Uniform

Melton Specialist School has a ‘Dress Code’ policy and we ask that our community support this by ensuring their child is in school uniform every school day. Wearing our school uniform is important in establishing a strong sense of school identity and pride. The uniform details are listed below. There is an option of purchasing a ‘Class of Year’ tops for Grade 6 and Year 12 students at the beginning of each year. There are many different clothing options available to cater to the various seasonal needs and preferences of students.

SCHOOL UNIFORM IS COMPULSORY AT OUR SCHOOL
  • In 2018 we introduced uniform pieces that are embroidered with the school’s logo.
  • All of our uniform pieces are available to be purchased directly from the school uniform shop and some of the generic pieces can be purchased from local department stores.
  • Please ensure that all student clothing and personal possessions are clearly marked.
